The topic for Week 2 was Intense. This was a tough one!. I didn't give it much thought, convinced something would come to me on Sunday when the time came to jump into the studio. I hadn't planned a model and had no access to my usual suspects i.e. teenage kids, so I knew it would be a self timer job :-) Sunday arrived and I started thinking over lunch how I would tackle Intense. I related Intense to something bold and expressive. I wanted to create an overt body language rather than communicate via facial expression - thought seemed to obvious.
I stood in the studio and considered how I could create a silhouette. I went to work with my Lastolite Skylight panel (here's a handy YouTube video that demo's how handy this bit of kit is) backlit with a softbox. Like all spontaneous creations that was my starting point and it developed from there - I love that process. One idea leads to another, a happy accident spurns a variation and then I simply get lost in it. In the end I enlisted the help of hubbie to add tension in the image by grabbing my arm.
I really enjoyed the process behind these and I got to wear my black tutu! An afternoon of photographing in a tutu, what more could a girl want :-)
