I have a confession to make. Over the xmas break I didn’t pick up my camera much at all. Feeling like my photographic mojo had checked onto the first flight out of Sydney I decided to go with the flow and allow myself to be uncharacteristically pixel free. In between movies, cups of tea and shamefully kicking off 50 Shades of Grey (don’t judge me) I seized on a moment of spontaneous motivation. Late afternoon and with a house full of teenage children happily lurking in bedrooms, I was drawn to action.
Nothing fancy here, a couple of speed lights through a softbox with a lastolite panel as a backdrop. Funny enough I set out to do some high key stuff and inevitably ended up with the more moody and darkness that I'm inevitably drawn to. These boys can take hard, shadowy light.
I love that about the creative process. You have a starting point and you never quite know where it's going to take you. Create, react, evolve, absolutely.
